Italian chef Pietro Tallo moved to Bristol in 1982 from his hometown in Italy with one goal in mind: to show the people of the city what authentic, delicious Italian cooking is really like.
He set up Europa Italian restaurant in 1990, near bustling Corn Street and Baldwin Street, and let his passion for serving up incredible dishes do the talking.
It didn’t take long for this traditional restaurant to become known as one of the best Italian restaurants in Bristol – and 25 years later, after Pietro joined forces with his wife Teresa, it is still going from strength to strength.
The couple put their success down to a focus on flavour – and a refusal to compromise on quality.
Only the freshest, finest ingredients…
Every day begins with an early morning trip to the market, where Pietro handpicks the very best local vegetables. Soon after, a delivery of meat and fish from local suppliers arrives. Only the ripest, juiciest tomatoes, the freshest fish and the highest quality meat will do.
Before heading to the kitchen to make loaves of fresh Italian bread for guests to enjoy, Pietro stops by his very own herb garden to carefully select a range of fragrant herbs to compliment his cooking.
From delicious pizzas to authentic pasta and a range of meat and fish dishes, everyone can find a favourite dish on the menu of this well-loved Bristol Italian restaurant. Pietro also creates daily blackboard specials and there is an impressive range of wines to choose from.
First class service…
While Pietro takes care of the cooking, Teresa heads up a dedicated front of house team, who go above and beyond to offer an incredible dining experience.
